Mission BBQ To Open July 14 In Columbia

The new Mission BBQ in Columbia will open officially on July 14 -- with a special opening for dinner on the July 11, according to a tweet from Linda Dotterer.

The Mission BBQ replaced a Chicken Out in the shopping center with Target just off Rte 175 and Dobbin Road.

They have one in hunt valley. Really good chain bbq. Solid sides and good brisket

I've been to this location a few times since it's opened. I love everything about the staff, the ambiance, what they stand for, and just the general atmosphere. But the food has really just been o.k. from what I've had. Granted, I still have not sampled the pulled pork, but came last weekend and my Brisket Sandwich was lackluster. Lot's of lean meat, but I just thought it tasted kind of bland, with only a light smoke flavor and not a lot of beefy succulence. They did ask me if I wanted "lean or moist" and I said "lean," because some places will just give you a hunk of fat for Brisket. Might be worth it to check out the alternative. Side of Green Beans and Bacon wasn't very good. Not a ton of bacon and it wasn't very crispy, while the beans lacked any character. I guess I just keep choosing the wrong items, but for whatever reason I've yet to be blown away.
