New Asian In Elkridge, Closed Asian in Columbia?

Two bits of restaurant news from folks asking on the blog or Facebook --
  • Anyone know a story or timeline behind East Moon Asian Bistro?  There is a sign up in the Shipley's Grant development on Rte 108 in Elkridge.  Inside, it is a construction site.
  • Anyone know if Tokyo Cafe closed in the Wilde Lake village center?  Kelly left a question on the HowChow Facebook page.

A post on yelp seems to indicate that Tokyo Cafe closed in July and it isn't listed on the official Wilde Lake list of stores. http://www.columbiavillagecenters.com/scripts/villagepublic.pl?center_id=6&function=store

I walked by and one of the gentlemen walked us around... East Moon is meant to open next month (wasn't very specific)... same menu as the one in Alexandria apparently. Pretty decent looking inside though.

Tokyo Cafe closed last month. Once they lost their liquor license, things really went downhill. I feel badly about their closing. I liked the place. However, I heard stories about irregularities on the bills of people who used their credit cards to pay as well as other issues. Now, Wilde Lake is down another merchant!

Yes, they are closed. Things went downhill a year or so ago - seemed like they got a new cook and old favorites weren't so good anymore. We got carryout from there at least once a month before, and after the change it was only a time or two. There's a new sushi place in Dorsey called Yama Sushi, and we're getting carryout from there instead. We just miss the curries.

We had lunch at Coal Fire today, and two tractor trailers from Sysco pulled into the parking lot by East Moon and started unloading. We peered in the windows, and it looks completely set up in the dining room.

Thanks everyone. I will miss their Vegas roll. Just tried Peking Chef in Hickory Ridge and was very pleased.

Asian Palace Fusion has GOOD sushi and a penang curry that was yummy and different (has a lot of peanut flavor in the sauce and a little spicy bite, too.) The drunken noodles were also very good...still miss Tokyo Cafe, but this is a good substitute and very fancy inside.

I heard yesterday that East Moon is scheduled to open in 10 Days. That could be October 3rd. Hope that helps!

It's open. Sushi was excellent. Jalapeno-yellowtail is not for the faint of heart. Entrees bit low on salt but generous amount of meat.

It appears East Moon has opened. We went past the site on Saturday evening and a "Grand Opening" sign was out.
