We are in the middle of the winter Howard County Restaurant Weeks, and restaurants are offering all kinds of specials through January 30.
Check out the official Web site to find the specials. I kept wanting to go out and come back with a great restaurant weeks post, but it's been a rough week of HowChow House coughing and aching. I'd love reports or recommendations from anyone else!

AIDA Bistro has a really extensive menu for Restaurant Weeks - it was my first time there and I really really enjoyed it. You can choose 2 from a list of 11 appetizers (one of which is 2 choices of cheeses from their cheese list). My friend and I shared 4 different options: Smoked duck breast flatbread, charcuterie plate, PEI mussels with red curry sauce, and 2 cheeses (blueberry stilton and a double cream). They were all excellent, but my favorite was the flatbread. So delicious and flavorful! For my entree, had the grilled beef filet over mac & cheese. The crispy leeks made the dish. As good as the steak was, I tasted my friend's scallops over wild mushroom truffle risotto and it was heaven!
The only drawback to AIDA's offerings was that dessert was not included. My group ordered anyway - bread pudding, canoli, and something that I can't remember the name of but was an awesome pudding-like concoction.
My husband and I also tried out Victoria's restaurant weeks menu. It was a very small menu - but still good. The stand outs were the piquillo pepper and sherry bisque with lump crab and the chocolate stout mousse cake.
For the last time we did Restaurant Weeks, Flavors of India (where Aida used to be in Gateway) has a great special! It's currently our favorite Indian restaurant.

We went to Portalli's and loved it. The risotto balls and lemon blackberry bread pudding is downright amazing.
Iron Bridge has their entire menu as a restaurant week option! What a deal!
