Link: HoCo Connect Has Demo Shot Of The Old Mango Grove That Will Become A Starbucks

The HoCo Connect blog has a photo of the demolition of the building that used to hold Mango Grove and Mirchi Wok.  The replacement building is supposed to hold a Starbucks with a drive through -- in Spring 2012, HoCo Connect says.

Check out the shot below the photos of beach food.  Anyone hear more about Mango Grove's plan to reopen in a new location?

It's so hard to believe Dobbin Road really needs another coffee shop!

So, my question is, how the hell is that shopping center going to handle the traffic?

Columbia doesn't seem to be concerned about traffic patterns for the roads, parking lots, or shopping centers. As long as they get paid high rents and the signs are not seen from the streets.

Well, I think actually the number of coffee shops is going to stay the same, as they're presumably moving the Starbucks across Dobbin Road over to this one.

Also, I agree with the other commenters. Dobbin Center traffic is pretty hellacious. It's already tricky to turn left to get to the McDonald's/Wendy's/Chick-Fil-A at a busy hour. Adding more cars is not going to help, especially given the drive-through option means that people will probably be swinging in and out of Starbucks faster.

I'm annoyed in general here. I really like Mango Grove and hope that it finds a good new spot soon. Has anything filled the old Frisco Grille storefront? I also liked the current Starbucks. I used to go there after hitting Borders on a Saturday morning, and now, well... :(
