Buffalo Wild Wings Has Opened In Columbia

Buffalo Wild Wings has opened in Columbia.  I went past Sunday on a run to Target, and they were filling the parking lot by the time that I drove home.

This is an outbuilding across from the Target on Rte 175.  Buffalo Wild Wings is next to Famous Dave's, which was flying some beer company banners in competition.

I hear good things about these wings, although I haven't actually eaten there.  Has anyone tried it yet?

I have been out of commission for weeks with travel and illness.  I'm trying to start up again, and I'll do a bunch of short posts about news that happened when I was home.  This way, people will be able to find the posts if they're looking for a specific restaurant.  Check them all out by clicking on Reset May 2014.

We tried it the day they opened and being vegetarian I was surprised that I actually enjoyed it. Had their black bean burger which was quite good. My husband enjoyed his meal of boneless wings and a grilled chicken buffalito. We tried the fried pickles which we also liked. Service was very good, tons of help but that could be because it was opening day.

So I haven't eaten at this location. But I am wary. The BWW location in the Arundel Mills Mall is horrible. And I say that after giving it several tries.

I was first introduced to BWW in Charlottesville, where I always had a great meal. So I know their format is capable of being good, I am just burned about the Maryland location I have tried.

I'm surprised they opened one so close to the Arundel Mills Mall location. Only been there a couple of times, thought it was fine, nothing special. Good beer selection, but not as good as DuClaw across the hall…

Hope you're feeling better, HowChow!

Any update on the Mission BBQ apparently coming to that plaza (it is that plaza, right?)

Adam, I drove by this weekend. There's a trailer next to it where they seem to be hiring. From the road, it looked like they're still renovating the old Chicken Out building.

Cool, thanks Matt. Seems like a similar point for the Ship's Cafe coming to Route 40 (old Serafino's)

Adam, I had heard Chef Paulino's was coming to the old Serafino's. Their site lists an EC location coming in June to Plum Tree. Is Ship's Cafe also coming to EC near there? http://ellicottcity.chefpaolinoscafe.com/

Anon,

You're right. Being a non-Catonsville native I mixed them up.

In any case, Route 40 west is really taking shape. Soft Stuff is suppose to reopen later this summer. they even sent a coupon in one of the magazines. Still not sure what the Sonic date will be.

I ate there last night. I have eaten at numerous other B-Dubs - including four other locations in Maryland - and felt like Columbia's had the best wings. They were meaty, the sauce was flavorful, and the service was excellent.

Went soon after the opening. Wings were served underdone, IMO. Some managerial type came over to ask us how the food was, and I said wings were not crispy on the outside. He said next time tell server that you want wings "crispy". No thanks. I don't need to eat at places where I need to remind them to cook the food.
