Is This The New Maiwand Kabob?

I think this is the upcoming Maiwand Kabob
Maiwand Kabob has officially announced their new location off Rte 175, and I assume this is a photo of the interior from this weekend.

This is a bay in the Columbia Crossing shopping center down down from Pier 1.  It's still construction now, but it looks like the footprint of a Maiwand Kabob -- open front, small kitchen in the left back, hallway and bathrooms in the right back.

Anyone know a timetable for the new Maiwand?  This looks a long way off, but I'm patient.  If I'm desperate for a hit, I can hustle to the Harper's Choice original for naan, kabob and mantwo.

I live within walking distance to the on in Hanover. When we first moved here, we went so much that the manager knows me and asks about my husband now. We don't eat there nearly as often anymore but every time we have company in town, it's the first place we go! I hadn't heard there was a new one coming. I also didn't know there was one over by the airport, so I'm like 3 locations behind!! The quality of the food doesn't seem to be deterred by their expansion. It does however, I've learned, depend on who is cooking. Sometimes the rice has no raisins, sometimes a lot, meat might have some or a lot of spice etc.

Can't wait till it opens because this new location will be much closer to me than the one in Harper's Choice.

With the new Maiwand and the Wegmans, I will be one happy camper! I may not ever have to cook again.

Harpers Choice location said new location would probably open in March but they were kind of reticent about offering information.

We were just at the new hotel/retail area off 295/Arundel Mills Rd and saw a Maiwand branch that looked open, if that's the one you mean.

Thanks. That Maiwand opened off the BW Parkway a few years ago. The new one looks like it will be in the Columbia Crossing shopping center near Target and down the row from Pier 1.

Hello, that is the space next door to Maiwand Kabob...it is a nail salon. We are planning to open some time in April (finger's crossed!). It will be a tad bit different then the current MK restaurants, some what comparable to Panera Cafe/Nordstrom Cafe, so be ready Howard County:)

Just a quick update that Maiwand Kabob in Columbia Crossing looks like it's getting close to opening! We took a photo today, looking in the window (but looks like we can't upload it?) There were still construction items in the space but the dining room looks nearly done.

FYI, I called Maiwand this afternoon to check on the opening date for the new location in Columbia Crossing, and the response was, "To be honest, it's probably going to be a couple more weeks at least." My husband was sorely disappointed- he's only in the area on Saturdays for class, so he doesn't have time to drive from Gateway to either of the other locations for lunch. I guess he'll just have to find something to tide him over.

I stopped at the new Columbia Crossing location for lunch today. They said they've been open for about a month now! Who knew?! Thank goodness for the neon "OPEN" sign or I would have drove right past assuming it was still under construction. Upon entering, I was very impressed with the decor. It was beautiful and more upscale than their other locations. It has more of a cozy dine-in feel instead of a fast Indian food feel. I was on lunch so ordered mine to-go. I cannot go to Maiwand without getting the Kaddu (baked pumpkin with ground beef and yogurt - my favorite!). I also ordered a gyro. Both were delicious as always. I'm already looking forward to going back again soon!!
