Link: First Thoughts On Corner Stable

Corner Stable has opened in the Kings Contrivance village center, and it was packed last week when we went past.

The P90Noir blog has an early review, and their table liked the crab cakes and the ribs.  Not so positive on the sides and aware of some chaos in a new place.  Sounds like the ribs are the Mrs. HowChow style -- fall off the bone.  We continue to have a divide over "tender" versus "toothsome and smokey."

I tried to stop by there for lunch today. They have a sign on the door that says that they open at 4:00 and will start serving lunch on 11/4.

You don't have a post about this, so I figured I would let you know! You seemed to really like this place! I am going to buy one ;-)

Went here last night and it was real busy. We had reservations and got seated a few minutes after we arrived. The decor is much better than when it was Michael's, and the food was awesome. A nice basket of corn bread arrived after we ordered a few drinks. Our group had ribs, fried chicken, and crab cakes, with sides of fries, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, mac and cheese, and we ordered a blooming onion as an appetiser that we really didn't need. We didn't care too much for the green beans, but everything else was great. We'll be going back soon, expecially for the fried chicken.

Stopped by at lunch today. It was very busy. Surprising for the first day they served lunch, but not real surprising when you consider it is a Friday lunch in Columbia. Ordered the Barbecue sandwich with fries. Everything was good. I can tell they are still working out some new restaurant issues but I will definitely be back.
