Giogio's Deli Closed

Giorgio's Deli closed, according to the Columbia Blog Project. That post has a nice rememberance of the deli on Snowden River across from Lincoln Tech.

Where would you recommend the best deli sandwich in Howard County? I have had some okay sandwiches, but nothing that I'd recommend you actually travel to eat. Philadelphia taught me about great hoagies, so I'm always looking for the right place.

Thanks for the link! When I saw the sign, I immediately went to your blog, hoping you had covered the topic, hoping to link to your article.

I have a mission for you with overtones of extreme personal danger! Find out what's in the pho broth at An Loi!

I would recommend Pepperjacks deli in Scaggsville/Laurel. It's a small mom and pop place off the beaten path on old 216. It's more of a sub shop than a deli but the sandwiches are good. I like their roast beef sandwiches.

You should check out C & B Italian Delly in Ellicott City. They're incredibly friendly in there and have great hoagies. In addition to the deli items, they also sell Italian grocery items- top notch pasta, canned tomatoes, pickled peppers etc.

I don't know the actual address, but it's across from the older Safeway in Normandy Shopping Center on the other side of Rte 40.
The building is immediately behind the Dunkin Donuts, and the deli is on the very end.

I always have to chuckle at their tip jar which usually reads either "beer fund" or "bail money."

I too suggest Pepperjacks on Scaggsville Road (at Crest off 216). It's in an old local gas station building a bit off the beaten path, but well worth a detour. Andrew & Lauren serve up some great sandwiches on bread baked on site. The Roast Beef Signature is a winner, as is the Italian with "The Works". They also offer soft-serve and sno-balls.
