Link: Tino's Italian On HoCo Rising

People keep saying good things about Tino's Italian Bistro in Columbia, and Tom toasted them Saturday on the HoCo Rising blog.

Tom thinks Tino's has a strong, fairly-priced wine list, and he says that it is quite a package with the food:
Before the patrons of Iron Bridge, Aida, and Tersiguel's get on my case, I acknowledge that Tino may not bring the same firepower as those other places, but for a young couple looking to have a nice dinner without breaking the bank, I can't think of a better place to go.
I just haven't been to Tino's yet.  We eat out way less than most people seem to assume, and pasta sauces are one of things that I tend to whip up on weeknights.  That steers us towards other cuisines when we go out, but we should check out Tino's and make another run to Pasta Plus in Laurel.

My husband and I had dinner at Tino's a few weeks ago, excellent. We had the fried calamari which was perfect and the chesapeak ravioli. For dessert we had the white chocolate mousse with almonds, it was more ice cream like than traditional mousse but very tasty. The wine list is very extensive and reasonably priced

Tino's also has amazing pizza. I recommend getting a pizza with meatballs, with a millefogle for dessert!

Tino's has become our favorite local Italian place. We go there probably twice a month and are always pleased. My wife likes the Alfredo and the Chicken Marsala, I like their Tino's salad with their delicious house dressing. Their subs are good as well, even difficult ones like eggplant parmigiana.
When they have it, their chocolate truffle dessert is a great way to end the meal. It's just three chocolate truffles, but they are intense and delicious.

If you're heading to Laurel anyway you should check out Salute Ristorante on Main Street http://saluteristorante.com/. My boyfriend and I tried it a few months ago and we're hooked. The pasta carbonara is perfect and the gnocchi is light. Service can be a little slow but everyone is very nice.

Tino's is amazing! We loved it when it used to be Strapazza and they kept the same chef and most of the menu. I think the food got even better with the new ownership. Myself, hubby, son and daughter, all of whom are picky eaters love everything we have tried there. Sauces are outstanding, food is cooked perfectly, service is great. The best minestrone - so thick it is more like a stew than a soup. And the owner (Tino) is very customer-friendly - I mentioned to him that the only thing missing from the restaurant was after-dinner mints and the next time we went, there was a bowl of mints!

We tried Tino's a few months ago and weren't impressed. The food was good, but it wasn't great. Same for the service. There wasn't anything enticing us to come back when there are other places that are always great. I'm glad some of you have had good experiences there.
