New Wolf-Foreman Restaurant Aiming To Open In 2013 On The Downtown Columbia Waterfront

Columbia should get a new restaurant this year by the owners by Charleston, Petit Louis and Cinghiale -- filling the lakefront space that used to be Red Pearl, notes the Sun and other folks who got the press release.

As I had written in April, folks have been talking about Cindy Wolf and Tony Foreman opening a new restaurant in downtown Columbia.  It's une idée formidable.  The Howard Hughes Company is developing a bunch of downtown land, and they're adding the nouveau restaurant down the lake from the Whole Foods coming in 2014.

Foreman and Wolf run wonderful upscale restaurants in Baltimore.  They should bump up the food around that area -- and be a nice pair with Sushi Sono overlooking the water.  One question remains: What kind of restaurant are they opening?  The official word is that no one should talk about that until authorized by .  But then, nous pouvons tous imaginer.

  1. Despite the implication of your post, I'd bet money it's going to be a "farm-to-table" concept. They don't have one of those yet and they specifically mentioned Howard County farms in their interviews. I'm willing to take bets on this.

  2. can't wait! after a bit of revolving doors in that space, it'll be nice to see how Wolf can make it a successful spot in hoco.

  4. I am hoping the restaurant is priced more like Johnny's than like the Charleston. I also think that TeeJay is probably right on the concept they will try here.

  5. Farm to table with a focus on local, sustainable foods would be fantastic. Even better if they have more than one creative vegetarian/vegan option on the entree menu. Key word = creative.

  6. @TeeJay -- A farm-to-table idea sounds terrific. The funny thing that I don't really care the kind of restaurant. Her food has always been good, and, even more, I have really enjoyed being at the restaurants even when the food -- like French at Petit Louis -- isn't naturally my favorite. They set an atmosphere. The waiters are incredible nice. Everything just works in a way that isn't true even in other expensive restaurants.
