Warren Brown -- the lawyer turned Food Network celebrity -- will be at the Maryland Home & Garden Show this Saturday afternoon to meet fans and talk about his chain CakeLove.The show is in Timonium, and there is information here.
A PR person asked me if HowChow readers might be interested. I asked if that meant CakeLove might be coming to Howard County. No such luck, as far as I know. But Brown will be at the show at 1 pm Saturday.
Can I just say that I think Cake Love's cakes are terrible? Seriously the worst baked good I've ever eaten. Why this guy is so famous, I don't know.
ReplyDeleteI just went to Touche Touchet Bakery in Columbia, and I thought their cake was really good. Their icing was pretty darn sweet, but not too bad. I was really impressed with their key lime cupcake :)

Could be the marketing and a good story, lawyer turned cakemaker. So much of consumer choice is wrapped up in the storytelling and imagery, not really cynical about it either, he's marketed well in that regard.
