This is on Rte 40 west of Rte 29. It's definitely a joint with a loyal following. Adam says he will aim for opening day:
I plan to be there. It's overrated, yes, but it's been a few years since I reminded myself of that. Where else are you going to get a corn dog, tots, and a shake all at the same time without ever leaving for car?The Sonic has been two-and-a-half years in the making. The first report was May 2012 by Wordbones. It may be a while before I can try the shakes -- which Mrs. HowChow says are the highlight -- but I'll pour a little out for Wordbones.
BTW...looks like a Peruvian Chicken place is opening on rt 40 across the shopping center from Aldi's near the Pho place
ReplyDeleteI don't think they are overrated. Sonic is a drive-in from yesteryear. Just remember that. Gourmet, it is not. The shakes are great!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely overrated. The last thing rt 40 needs is another junky fast food place.
ReplyDeleteFunny. I thought the last thing Route 40 was a Korean bakery. But really junk it isn't. Even the rebuilt McDonald's has some swag :)
ReplyDeleteI love the slushes, over 100,000 different drink combinations!
ReplyDeleteWe went to the new Sonic in Ellicott City on 10/18/14(Saturday). The place is right next to a Goodwill store. They shoehorned that place into the location – the layout is really bad. There are only a few (maybe 8) spots to sit in your car to order food and eat. There is a tiny indoor area to order food and eat. We got a seat inside to eat, and people waiting in line to order food were literally standing in our faces while we ate. That was not very pleasant. The drive-thru line was really long.
ReplyDeleteI highly doubt that we will go back to this Sonic again.
