Whole Foods To Open August 20 In Columbia

Whole Foods will open its new Columbia store on August 20, the company announced today.

The store will open in the former Rouse Company headquarters, the white office building on the lakefront and across from the mall.

You can follow some pre-opening events on Whole Foods' Facebook page.  Mrs. HowChow is super-excited about a popsicle bar.  They're making special juices and freezing them into popsicles.  We could have used those tonight.

  1. Apparently the Korshi Buffet is now open in the Nichi Bei Kai spot, and there are 3 mixed reviews on yelp. Have you heard anything, yet?

  2. As a lover of sushi, korean bbq, and food in general (lol) I really want this place to be good! Hopefully, the less than rave reviews are just because they have recently opened and need to work some things out.

  3. I'm one of those that left a yelp review and my main issue is that there is no Korean BBQ there. I guess having the same name as the Centreville location I assumed they would have the same offerings.

  4. That doesn't seem to be giving them a fair shake. So early, we need to hear how the food they DO serve is!

  6. I went to Korshi for dinner yesterday with a small group. Personally I enjoyed it and definitely got my money's worth, with good quality fish for the sushi and reasonable fish-to-rice ratios. Our four-year-old son also loved it, partly because of the fruit and because the sushi chef made him a california roll by request. However, the other three adults were underwhelmed at the selection and quality, especially given the price. So my own verdict was a slightly above-average buffet joint, and I'm hopeful it will keep improving over time.
