What Is Wild Cajun Seafood? Are They Serving?

What is Wild Cajun Seafood?  Has anyone eaten there?

Jack emailed me about a Web site for a restaurant in the Lotte shopping center at Rte 29 and Rte 40.  It's new to me.  Jack and I didn't even know if it is open.  The phone number doesn't go to a restaurant yet.

Does anyone know the story?

The menu that Jack found on-line has a lot of fried seafood -- along with salads, other seafood, and New Orleans dishes like gumbo and etouffee.  They promise po' boys, and that could be a delicious.  There is also a Facebook page where they seem to be recruiting job applications.

  1. Just found out last week that Chen Hibachi was due to close last Saturday there in Lotte Plaza. Owner said he sold to a Vietnamese fellow, but didn't know what the plans were for the space. Renovation was expected, however. Is this what was planned?

BTW does anyone have any suggestions for another Asian buffet (not Indian) that would allow for people to come and go (like an open house)for a casual luncheon? (Not keen on Teppanyaki Grill)

  3. Tokyo Seafood Buffet in Security Mall is pretty decent. What's wrong with Teppanyaki Grill (I assume the one in Laurel)?

  5. If it's a Vietnamese owner opening a Cajun place, I hope they'll have boiled crawfish by the pound. I used to love those when I lived down south.

  6. @howchow @stephanie I saw signs for a Japanese Buffet where Nichi Bei Kai used to be. I haven't been in that shopping center in a couple weeks so I'm not sure if it's open yet or not. I'm excited though because Columbia needs a good Asian buffet restaurant! Hopefully it is good.

  7. The place going in where Nichi Bei Kai used to be wasn't open as of 18 Feb. Windows all covered over, no sign of activity.

  8. I second the place next to Security Mall. The food is better than the place at Rte 40 and 29. Three or four soup options, lots of food, a grill like Mongolian Grill sushi bar and ice cream. We were there last week and there was a party of about 50 and they did not dominate the place, it is huge!

  9. Sad to see Chen Hibachi close. The sushi chef was just excellent. Just saw Wild Cajun Seafood in its place today. Still not open.

While not quite an Asian buffet, I always liked Niko Japanese Restaurant's sushi lunch buffet. We really could use a nice Oriental buffet around here though.
