New Patio At Portalli's On Main Street

Drawing of Portalli's new patios
Eventually Main Street will get a new coat of paint, but in a few weeks, it will get a giant new patio.

Portalli's has all the approval to add patio seating for 80 people on its building.  That's actually two layers of patio covering 1,000 square feet.

Owner Evan Brown came home early from a first anniversary trip for the final meetings to get approval.  Construction should start late this week and take only seven to 10 days, Brown says.

  1. They should focus on making the food taste good. I have been there a few times and food is not good. My wife and I went for our 16th wedding anniversary in Nov of 2011 and had the 4 or 5 course meal and none of courses were worth eating. After that we officially crossed them off of our list of restaurants to visit.

  2. I like the food and go there a couple times a year, but I'm seriously having trouble trying to picture where exactly a patio of that size is going to fit. The rendering really doesn't show the distance between the back of the existing building and the hill behind it. Wasn't part of the problem with the fire a few years ago that they couldn't get anything behind the buildings because of the position?

  4. I love Portallis, they do some of the best seafood in Howard County. I've eaten there many times without ever having a bad meal. I too can't imagine where they will put the deck though. On the roof?

  5. The blue print is showing the rear of the building. It's situated on a hill that right now is just a bunch of overgrowth that nobody has done anything with for at least about a decade. Needless to say, this is a big financial undertaking but we feel it will pay off in that we will finally be able to offer some of the best outdoor seating in Howard County. Hopefully the weather will have cooled off a little by the time the patio is completed.

Mr. Evers- I sincerely apologize that your experience was a disappointment. I promise that what you experienced in 2011 is not indicative of a typical Portalli's visit. Please contact me at lee@diamondbacktavern.com, we would like to make things right with you.
