I live in the Highland area and have been keeping my eye on this place as well until I saw the prices online. $3 for a single piece of nigiri is pretty steep! I'll wait for some reviews to come in before I give it a try myself.
Went today. Got the lunch special which is $11 for 3 pieces of sushi, a roll, and miso soup. It's a little pricey for the amount of food you're served, but the quality and presentation of the food is on point. The decor is modern and a little wacky.
So we did go last night (2/12/13)for dinner with the kids. Interior is quite cozy and nice - they definitely spent some money to warm up the strip mall location. They opened on Monday, 2/11. No alcohol yet so limited beverage options. Full (big) menu was available and we found it to be quite tasty if not in the realm of fantastic. As previously mentioned, it is not cheap particularly for the a la carte sushi/sashimi menu since the prices listed are for 1 (uno) piece. Portions are not huge and you can easily leave there hungry for the amount of money spent. But - yeah! - for the location and the service was VERY nice and attentive. My kids have been hungry for some traditional Japanese restaurant menu items that were not available elsewhere in HowCo and they found them here. So it is a good option for us. Looking forward to hearing about other people's experiences there.
EXCELLENT!!!! Went last night (2/14) with the family. I've been searching for good sushi in HowCo for years and I think I've finally found it. They are still in the soft opening and working out a couple kinks with the service. That being said, I was really impressed. May be considered a little pricey compared to other sushi places but you get what you pay for. I will be going back again soon.
I sort of looked in when leaving HT's lot yesterday afternoon around 5:00. Sparse crowd. Hungry bear I'd like to see the menu. This location is way more convenient than Sushi King or Yama Sushi. Hoping to see more upbeat reviews
I love comments -- especially comments that specifically recommend dishes or items to buy. Tell people what you like and why. If you can, please don't leave it as "anonymous." Just choose "name/URL" below, type in a nickname and leave the URL part blank. I like following people's comments even if I don't know your name.
I see that their website is up:
