New Owner At im Wine -- What's The News?

The owners of im Wine in Fulton have sold the Fulton liquor store, according to an email that they sent customers.

Nothing specific in the email about the new owner.  They call him a "young man."  Not sure what the change will mean.  Anyone know the plans?

  1. The new owner is really nice, his name is Verion (sp?) Patel. The plans are to keep the store "as is" and they are even bringing back the former buyer Rick.

  3. Anon -- What do you mean "Do a small plate?" Appetizers at a liquor store?

  4. Is this the place in Maple Lawn? If so, good riddance to the old owner and hope the new guy is good.

Cheese and charcuterie plates to go with the wine, I would guess.

  6. Anonymous 3 - what do you mean good riddance? IM Wine was (is?) the best liquor store in HoCo. The staff was polite, intelligent, and well-informed, and the prices were pretty good.

I'm a little nervous about the new owner. The weekly e-mail was a war zone of typos and featured MGD, Coors, and other mass-market swill. That's not what I expect from IM...

  7. My name is Richard. I was the wine buyer for i.m.wine for the better part of 5 years until I left in January of this year. I was offered the opportunity to come back by the new ownership to make sure that the store stays on course providing great small production wine beer and spirits. Yes, we will be bringing in a few national brand beers and some more recognizable wine brands to help make the store a more viable business, but beyond that nothing will change. Sorry no small plates (even though that WOULD be kinda awesome) but we will have expanded hours (we're open on SUNDAYS until 8pm and until 10pm during the week).

I love this place. They even recently started selling growlers. The owner gave me a taste test and I decided on the Stone 12.12.12 Vertical Epic Ale. I go back as often as I can!
