Excited for the new Columbia Wegmans? Sign up on-line for their Shoppers Club card. It's the normal grocery store bonus card, and you could have yours delivered before the June 17, 2012 opening.
You know the place will be a zoo in the first few days. Don't wait in line for your card.
Hat tip to Alison on the I Want The Columbia Wegmans Facebook page who pointed out that you can sign up for the card on-line.
Some of us love Wegmans so much we trek out to Hunt Valley just to buy our groceries. I already got my card a while back. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat said, I don't think I'll be going to Wegman's early on. Maybe late at night if I do. I can't stand the large crowds.
@Anon -- Then *you* need to go on-line to update your home store. Show Howard County pride. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe store is listed on their site. I guess I can do that.
ReplyDeleteI still wish it was 24 hours, but that just means I'll do my shopping late in the day.
Whats the point of the card other than giving them free marketing data? I've been shopping with my card number at another Wegman's store in Pennsylvania lately and I can't remember it getting me discounts as a card does at Safeway.
ReplyDeleteI remember when they opened the store in Abingdon they had a promotion where you had a chance to win a $500 gift card for registering a new card. Just another data point in case someone else might want to wait to see if they do that again.
ReplyDeleteDude, I got my card two years ago..in preparation for the Columbia Store!
ReplyDeleteWhen the economy tanked again (2 yrs ago??) for the most part Wegmans quit offering weekly sales. They really dropped the prices of many, many items in their stores and pledged to keep those prices for a year I think it was.
ReplyDeleteSo, without a weekly sale like Safeway and others have, the Wegmans card doesn't get you any discount now. I assume if they go back to weekly sales then you'll need the card to get the price.
Once, though, when the bialy's at Wegmans were recalled, they were able to track who purchased them. We got an automated call from Wegmans advising us of the recall because they were able to tell we'd purchased some.
