Vote For Zagat, Free Book In the Deal For You

The Zagat folks are looking for locals to vote on restaurants from Baltimore to Washington.  Their local rep Marty highlighted for me that they want reviews of Howard County places so that they can end up in the book.

You can end up with a book too.  If you sign in and vote, then Zagat sends you a free guide when it is published.  Click here for the voting that is open through March 4.

  1. I looked at the survey, but a surprising number of our favorites aren't in there at all. Most of the Ellicott City restaurants are listed as "West Baltimore" though a few are in "Columbia." Johnny's Bistro isn't there, nor is the Diamondback Tavern, nor is Yama Sushi. Did the rep mention if there was a way to add restaurants?

  2. It's a constant discussion with the editors to try to unconfuse neighborhood listings confounded by post office addresses and much of Howard County uses the old rural USPS ID's that covered huge swaths before it got densely populated, so parts of Columbia are officially Ellicott City and Guilford is legally Laurel! I apologize, if you search by name, the ones we have will turn up, but if places like Yama and Johnny's don't turn up because they're new, newly popular or previously not suggested, please add them in the write-ins section. I'll try to get a direct link to that. We need reports on Yama, Lighthouse Tofu and all the places we're missing that are worthwhile.

  3. The write-in link is not apparent, thanks for alerting, will advise on remediation progress.

  4. Meanwhile, I can try to have places added manually; other than Yama and Johnny's, what do people think should be added?

I love comments -- especially comments that specifically recommend dishes or items to buy. Tell people what you like and why. If you can, please don't leave it as "anonymous." Just choose "name/URL" below, type in a nickname and leave the URL part blank. I like following people's comments even if I don't know your name.
