Mango Grove Will Soft-Open On Valentine's Day

Mango Grove will soft open on Tuesday and offer a limited menu with limited seatings over the next week, the restaurant says on its Facebook page.

The Columbia restaurant has relocated and is opening its new space for both vegetarian and non-veg Indian food.

  1. I'm looking for a place in Howard County that serves the following kind of food:

Starter: Smoked salmon with tiny blobs of avocado mousse, grapefruit and horseradish.

Main Course: Venison with baby turnip, port reduction, gin jelly and pineapple.

Dessert: tiny burger bun made of brioche, chocolate truffle for the burger,mini-toffee apple, candy floss, marshmallow, chocolate popcorn and a tiny doughnut.

This is my idea of a proper menu.

Please someone help me find a decent meal in this county. So far all I've found is a dry dessert of mediocre food made with less than excellent ingredients for an not very discriminating audience.

  2. I'd suggest Bistro Blanc perhaps. If not, maybe Volt in Frederick (not that far away). And then I'd say: we don't eat like that much in Howard County. Demographically we have money but we also work long hours and have families. So we tend not to frequent places that serve food such as you describe.

Tersiguels, Elkridge Furnace Inn, Cafe de Paris, that's about as fancy as we get.

  3. Well said Marcia. I wouldn't say we don't eat like that around here though. We just venture into one of the cities for that.

Anonymous - To suggest that the majority of restaurants in HoCo are serving mediocre food made with less than excellent ingredients just makes you sound ignorant.
