Corner Stable To Host Next Hoco Blogs Party -- So Check Out Word On The Crab Cake Review

The new Corner Stable in Columbia got a "claw up" from the Crab Cake Review blog.

The blog does what it says -- regular reviews of crab cakes around DC, Maryland and Virginia.  The review likes the Corner Stable crab cakes and the ribs.  They get five out of a possible five crabs in the rating.

You could try the crab cakes if you go to Corner Stable for the next HocoBlogs party -- aimed at local bloggers and their readers.  That will be Monday, February 13 from 6 to 8 pm at the restaurant in the King's Contrivance village center.

Brian Dunn of Columbia 2.0 will co-host with the folks from HocoBlogs.  More details and the registration form is here - http://hocoblogs-corner-stable.eventbrite.com/

  1. They're pretty good, but 5 stars is a bit much for me. They are well constructed (big pieces of crab), and seasoned well, but the crab itself has very little taste (which is rather surprising). All-in-all, they lack that sweet crab taste that you look for in a great crabcake.

  2. Thanks for helping to promote the hocoblogs party, Howchow. Brian Dunn (of Columbia 2.0) is on the Kings Contrivance Village Board and wanted to promote a KC business in co-hosting the next party. I was a bit skeptical about the place til I saw it! There's a fantastic bar space in the back that we can have for a private party. Hope to see you there!

  3. I was not impressed by the Corner Stable. I felt everything was too salty. The prices were quite steep too. I don't mind paying for good food, but didn't feel the quality matched up with the prices. I also agree with Eddie- the crab lacked flavor, probably why they used so much salt.

  4. I would like to know how their crab cakes compare to Koco's Pub in Baltimore. After a sampling of the area's "best of" crabcakes this summer, theirs was the clear winner
