There are signs near the old Artie's locale in Clarksville that say they're opening a Pudgies Pizza and Subs in Clarksville, according to an anonymous comment. Apparently, this is a small New York and Pennsylvania chain. Anyone have a report?
I drove in the lot yesterday around noon. The snow was all cleared out, and several young men were schlepping a bunch of big boxes of, I assume, equipment inside. Looks like they took in a very large shipment of stuff. Boxes covered a lot of the sidewalk space in front of the doors.
Pudgies opened at lunchtime today. Did pizza and a salad for carryout at dinner. Lots of staff and they were trying hard. Pizza was pretty decent. It reminded me a lot of Dominics in Colesville for what that's worth. Salad was rather ho-hum. Looking forward to trying some of their subs.
I'm from Elmira, NY and got down on my knees when I found out this was opening. We grew up on Pudgie's and we get it every time we go home for a visit. Since the opening of the Clarksville store, my husband and I have eaten there and it's a little piece of home in MD. It's awesome! I recommend not only their pizza but their other food as well. I'm partial to calzones. :O) Happy Pizza eating!
I love comments -- especially comments that specifically recommend dishes or items to buy. Tell people what you like and why. If you can, please don't leave it as "anonymous." Just choose "name/URL" below, type in a nickname and leave the URL part blank. I like following people's comments even if I don't know your name.
Ahh, for a minute I thought you meant Pudge's, the Pennsylvania Cheesesteak company. Oh well, wishful thinking, I guess.
ReplyDeletePudgies is from Elmira, NY and we are so lucky its coming to Clarksville! The pizza is amazing and the boneless wings are the best.
