China Chefs in Columbia has closed -- shut down after 20 years of Chinese food memories, reports Trevor on the new HoCo Politico blog. China Chefs was Trevor's #6 place to eat back when he was a regular guest blogger on Hoco Rising.
That's too bad. I ate there frequently when I lived close, but hadn't been there in years. The sweet and sour cabbage was a unique and delicious dish that I haven't found anywhere else.
Mr. Lim was very pessimistic about the economy when we chatted as I picked up take out a month ago. China Chefs was a Columbia institution, Mr. Lim understood the importance of quality customer service, and he and his restaurant will be greatly missed.
I love comments -- especially comments that specifically recommend dishes or items to buy. Tell people what you like and why. If you can, please don't leave it as "anonymous." Just choose "name/URL" below, type in a nickname and leave the URL part blank. I like following people's comments even if I don't know your name.
Haven't been there in years. We got coupons today that imply Panda Buffet has closed or changed ownership. Has anyone been there recently?

ReplyDeleteYesterday there was a sign on their door stating that the restaurant was closed for remodelling and that it would reopen 2/2011.
