Peruvian Chicken Is Coming Back To Columbia
Peruvian chicken is coming back to Columbia -- at the same Hickory Ridge village center spot where it used to be.
Signs for Grille Chick 'N Pollo say that they're coming soon. They're in the backside spot where the old Chick 'N Pollo used to be. Jeremy sent me the photo above. It looks like a similar place advertising roasted chickens. I hope that they'll have plantains and the antichuchos.
Does anyone know the story or timeline for the new Grille Chick 'N Pollo?
(Update: The signs now say that they'll open on January 3, 2013. Amanda posted photos on the HowChow Facebook page.)

If they also have the Thai Fusion Burritos that De Chick N Pollo, then I will be a happy man.
I hope the food is as good, or dare I hope better, than the last place.
I stopped by there on the afternoon of the 9th and snapped a picture of their sign. A guy named "James" was leaving. He said they intended to open on Jan 3, and that they had already take care of their health inspections and permits.
He said that the only things changing were the owners and the name, FWIW.
There are a large number of Peruvian charcoal chicken place in the DMV, but I've never found one as good as El Pollo Rico in Wheaton. Any other recommendations?
@Paul - Try Crisp & Juicy!
Went for lunch yesterday and it was almost the same, great. Will be back in the rotation as I prefer it to the one on Rt 1.
Burrito was good :)
Stopped by there recently for the first time & glad we did, we'll be back. Delicious well-spiced chicken with crispy skin. Accompanying rice & (black) beans & order of tostones were good. Tried a bottled drink (no carbonation) called "chicha morada" not knowing what to expect but it was quite tasty. Flavorings listed on the bottle were purple maize extract, pineapple, lemon, cinnamon, & cloves; interesting combination & nice change of pace from standard tea or soda. Proprietor(?) behind the counter was more than helpful in describing dishes & suggesting meal ideas.
My favorites are the ceviche and pollo alla parilla!
